Johnny Mitchell Turner, age 86 of Newton, passed away Thursday morning, October 24, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the chapel at Family First Funeral Care with Bimbo Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 A.M. Saturday, at Family First Funeral Care. Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601. Mr. Turner was born on September 28, 1933 to the late Fate Turner and Ellen Phillips Turner. Johnny was employed as a carpenter for many years. He also worked as an aircraft mechanic at Ft. Rucker. Johnny married the love of his life, Vivian Burdick. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Vivian Turner of Newton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
