Mildred C. (Mrs. I. M., Jr.) Andrews, died on Wednesday evening, August 28, 1991, in her home on Broad St. She was born on May 22, 1915, on her same beloved Broad St.

She is survived by her four children, William Cross Andrews of Salem; Elizabeth Andrews Wasem of Fredericksburg; Rev. John Moon Andrews of Lynchburg; Dr. Clark E. Butler Andrews of Daleville; their spouses and seven grandchildren.

She was the youngest daughter of Wilbur Rawles Cross and Lula Clayton Armstrong Cross.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Roanoke College. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, the First United Methodist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class and the Fritzi Johnson Circle. She also was a member at Current Regent of the Fort Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Salem Historical Society.

Memorials may be given to the Salem Rescue Squad, the First United Methodist Church or the Salem Historical Society.

Family visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Salem at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 1991, with the Rev. Thomas L. Joyce and the Rev. Jonathon L. Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.
