Genevieve Charlotte Allen of Des Plaines from 1950 to 2003 Genevieve Charlotte Allen, 89, of Mundelein since 2003, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006.
She was born to James and Rose (nee Schieber) Osborne in Buffalo, N.Y. on March 1, 1917.
Her passion in life was family, friends and the care of her husband of 62 years, Carroll E. Allen, who preceded her in death. She was the best of the best. She was a gentle soul and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was an angel on earth and will be dearly missed. She was known for sharing and giving of herself and was a woman of great inner strength. Her concern for all animals was well known and she was a contributor to many animal causes.
She was the loving mother of Carol (Jerry) Dinelli of Mundelein and Arthur "Chip" (Patricia) Allen of California, Ky.; grandmother of Deborah (Clifford) Drew of Lockport, N.Y., Pamela (Marc) Barbeau of Rockford and Amanda Robinson of California, Ky.; great-grandmother of Brittany Barbeau of Rockford and Brier Barbeau of Rockford; and a great-great-grandmother and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carroll; and sisters, Erma Schoenl and Olive McWhorter.
