Carolyn Sue Hodges, age 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

Carolyn was born October 18, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked for 22 years at Schlumberger Wells Service. She was very proud of the career she had and upon taking an early retirement she had the privilege to move in with Mady and help care for her angel, Madelyn Summer Bishop, the love of her life. This is the career she was most proud of!

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Ruby Dismukes, her father Roy Maddox, her oldest brother Robert Maddox and her niece Beth Story. In addition to her mother Martha Eva Phillips, she is survived by her children: Donald Savage (Sherry), Martha Eppinette (Don), Vicki Bishop (Mike); siblings: Larry Maddox (Debbie), Margaret "Ann" Downey (Myles), Mary  Elizabeth "Libby" Story, Steve Maddox (Shelly) and sister-in-law Judy Maddox. Carolyn had many nieces and nephews: Billy, Roy, Annette, Ann Marie, Linda Michelle, Archie, Aaron, Collin, Blake and then there were her grandchildren, the joy of her life, the ones who called her "NANA": Jeremy, Briana, Shane, Christy, Alan, Mady and Dylan, but wait, there's more... she was a great-grandma to her to two precious great-granddaughters, Makenzie and Kirra Ann.

Carolyn was a special person who was always there for you. Nana was the matriarch of our family. She was always hosting the gatherings that kept us all together. She loved to cook and was good at it. She loved road trips to Louisiana and Las Vegas to play those slot machines!! Carolyn went on her first cruise in February and was supposed to be on one the day she passed away, but God called her home to streets of gold instead.

Carolyn fought her battle with liver cancer. We are so thankful she didn't have to suffer for very long.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be Monday October 28, 2019  in the mausoleum chapel at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920  Tomball,TX 77375 with interment immediately following on site. We invite all for a fellowship luncheon after interment at  Spring Creek Barbeque  6068 FM 2920, Spring, TX 77379 in the private room.
