Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Onawa, Iowa led by Brother Lester Larson. Burial will follow in the Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Paul Arthur Burgess was born February 23, 1949 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Walter and Marie (Miller) Burgess. He graduated from Whiting High School in Whiting, Iowa.
Paul and Ramona D. Clayton were united in marriage on May 16, 1981 in Onawa, Iowa.
Paul worked at Westendorf Manufacturing in Onawa, Iowa and the Iowa DNR.
He enjoyed collecting model tractors and trucks and watching Westerns. He also enjoyed metal recycling. Paul was active in Friends of Discovery.
He was a member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Onawa, Iowa.
Survivors include his daughter, Charisa (Mathew) Gotto of Denison, Iowa; two sons, Tobias (Bethany) Burgess of Diagonal, Iowa and Jairret Burgess of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren, Isaiah Burgess of Denison, Iowa, and Kaitlyn, Keigan, and Levi Burgess of Diagonal, Iowa; sister-in-law, Linda Burgess of Denison, Iowa; and mother-in-law, Elsie Wagner of Turin, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Burgess; two infant children; parents, Walter and Marie Burgess; brother, Keith Burgess; and father-in-law, James “Jim” Wagner.
