Teresa J. Long, "Terri", was born December 14, 1954, in Spearman, Texas to Bill and Arlene Cummings. Even though Terri had three other siblings, she was "Daddy's girl". She acquired a strong work ethic and grit from her father, while her mother instilled in her the importance of manners and proper appearance. Little did we know in her youth, that these values would combine to turn Terri into the beautiful, smart and successful woman she became.

Graduating from Nimitz High School in 1973, in Irving, Texas, Terri could have easily participated in the school pageants, but chose to orchestrate and produce them instead. Blue Cross Blue Shield was Terri's first job after high school. Over a span of 45 years, her work career would take her to Washington State, Houston and finally Austin, Texas. Wherever Terri worked, she was always a valued employee and team member. It was common for Terri to do the work and give everybody else the credit.

Terri selflessly brought two little ones into this world, Cortney and Matt. By the time Weldon met Terri on a blind date, she had been a single mom for over seven years. It was during this time, she had worked her way up from Secretary to National Sales Manager for Tait Electronics, a multi-million dollar company. Their romance and courtship would continue to grow, and in 1991, Terri said, "I do!" In 1996, Terri joined Weldon as Co-Owner and Operator of Long's Vacuum and Appliance. For the remaining 22 years, Terri and Weldon would grow their business into one of Austin's Originals, known countywide. She would finish raising their kids, and in spite of Weldon, watch them develop into the competent, successful adults they are today. Cortney and Matt would celebrate marriages to wonderful and loving spouses, Mike and Jennifer. In 2002, Cortney would give birth to Terri's one and only cherished grandson, Ryan. On a particularly fussy night Ryan was placed in Terri's arms. Immediately silenced, he gazed into Terri's eyes and said "goo", and from that point on, she was affectionately known as "Goo".

Even after Terri's diagnosis, she remained in good spirits. Her sister Peggy became a loving constant in Terri and Weldon's household. They would stay up late drinking coffee and laughing as they reminisced old times. Peggy hosted a joyous family reunion where friends and family got to see Terri one last time, beautiful and smiling from ear to ear. But out of our arms and into God's, Terri passed away August 19, 2019, at the age of 64, in Austin, Texas.

Terri is survived by her husband Weldon Long; their children Cortney Wehrman and Matt Burton; their spouses Mike Wehrman and Jennifer Burton; her grandson Ryan Wehrman; her sisters Karen Giese and Peggy Warren; their husbands Regan Giese and Lou Warren; her brother Matt Cummings; her nieces Leslie Starr, Michelle Croce, and Hayley Weakley; their husbands Shawn Starr, Andy Croce, and Jon Weakley; and her nephews Kevin Dunn, Jeff Warren and Justin Cummings. Terri was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Arlene Cummings, and her nephew Sean Giese.
