WOODLAND, NC – Lisa Flythe Wheeler, age 49, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her home.
Lisa was born on May 26, 1970 to Tony Wilson Flythe and Kay Britt Flythe in Ahoskie, NC. Lisa was a graduate of Northampton East High School and East Carolina University. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and was very strong in her faith. Lisa was a social worker and truancy officer for Northampton County Schools. She was a very compassionate wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family meant the world to her, especially her children, being at everything they were involved in. Lisa enjoyed working at Jon’s Seafood, and people would call to see when she was working because they liked her so well, making friends all along the way. She loved the beach, it was her happy place, going there as often as she could. Lisa was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Wilson Flythe.
Left to cherish Lisa’s memory is her beloved husband of 26 years, Johnny, her mother, Kay Britt Flythe, her daughter, Olivia Ann Wheeler; her son, Trent Wheeler, all of the home; her sister, Lori Deloatch; three nephews, Dillon Deloatch and wife Tiffani, Hunter Deloatch and wife Ashley, and Cole Deloatch all of Conway; great-niece, Summer Deloatch; two great nephews, Levi Deloatch and Brock Deloatch; along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC and other times at the home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Zion United Methodist Church, Conway, NC, with burial to follow at Milwaukee Cemetery, Milwaukee, NC.
