Obituary for Ronnie "Tiger" Wilson
Ronald R. "Tiger" Wilson was born on October 27, 1937, in Wayne County, Iowa to Claude and Goldena (Carter) Wilson. Ronnie passed from this life on October 21, 2019 at his home in Allerton, Iowa.
Ronnie married Marilyn Herndon on May 2, 1959 in Corydon, Iowa. He and Marilyn moved to Guthrie Center, Iowa, shortly thereafter. Ronnie taught sixth grade in Guthrie Center for ten years. Following his teaching, he and Marilyn returned to the Allerton area to pursue farming and raising cattle. He also substituted in the Williamson and Corydon school systems during this time, along with driving a school bus.
His interests included sprint car racing, the Hawkeyes, the Kansas City Chiefs, racing go-carts, black Fords, and Farmall tractors. Ronnie was an avid and very talented golfer and a fast-pitch softball pitcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Marilyn, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Donna Herndon, nieces Vicki Kallick, Lisa Winn and husband Dennis, great nephews Joseph Dircks and Andy Kallick, great niece Katie Tragarz and husband Josh, and great-great nephew James Tragarz, along with many friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon.
Interment will immediately follow in the Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Wayne County Hospital EMS. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com and at facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
