Marshall Ronald Brooks, 81, of Anderson died October 19, 2019 at his residence.
He was born September 27, 1938, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the son of Marshall D. and Etta R. (Reese) Brooks.
Marshall worked three years at Monroe County Sheriff's Department then retired from the Anderson Police Department July 17, 1996 after 32 years service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge # 77 for 59 years; Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine Club in Indianapolis and Madison County Shrine Club. He was a friend to many people. He loved his family and spending time with them in their cabin in southern Indiana.
Marshall is survived by his three sons, Steve (Rendi) Brooks of Fishers, Linc Brooks of Anderson, Jake Brooks of Anderson and daughter Debbie (Gary) Williams of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Marshall, Madison, Mitch, Lakin, Dawson, Dawn Smith and Gary Wilhoite.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Carlene E. Brooks who died October 24, 1996; daughter Valerie Brooks who died September 28, 1990; father, Marshall Brooks who died in 1963 and his mother, Etta Brooks Dilling who died in 1992.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or the Shriner's Hospital.
