The funeral service for Sybil Virginia Garrett Smith, age 90 of Delta, will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Sunny Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Delta she had lived in Anniston and Levelland, TX before returning to Delta in late 1994 and was the former owner and operator of Smith Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Levelland, TX. Mrs. Smith liked to cook, work in the yard, enjoyed helping people and was a one of a kind Christian lady.
She is survived by her brother, Hugh Garrett (Lyn) of Prattville; her long-time friend, Evelyn Ryan of Delta; two nieces: one nephew; seven great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece and one great-great nephew.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents: Grover William Garrett and Lois Ingram Garrett; her husband, Joe Smith and two brothers: Albert and Hoyt Garrett.
Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
