Nat and his wife moved from Miami County, Indiana to Alberta, Canada in 1910 to be near their children. Nat did not like depending on his children for support so he left for six years, then returned. Catherine stayed with the children. During that six year absence most of that time Nat was seen in Miami County, Indiana. In 1921 he and Catherine moved to Cassils into their son, Clifford's home where they were until their deaths. They had 8 children: Nida(Ned) Porter Lewis, Ira W. Lewis, Dula Lewis Sinnett, Clifford Lewis, Frederick Lewis, Valley Lewis, Burr (Bert) Lewis, and Roland (Roe) Lewis.
From their granddaughter, Pauline Lewis Kisch's book: Me,With My Relatives & Friends (1981)-
"On April 20, 1926, Grandma Catherine Lewis passed away. and Grandpa Nathaniel Lewis passed away on November 18, 1926. They were buried in the Cassels Cemetery. A few years later, their graves were plowed and farmed over. Many years later some people of the district put up a monument with the people's names on it that had been buried there."
