Funeral for Lawrence H. Carstens, 72, was held Wednesday at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home in Davenport with Pastor Phillip Falk officiating. Private committal services were held at Reardan Cemetery. Carstens was born Dec. 23, 1911 in Reardan where he lived and worked his entire life. He farmed for 27 years before becoming manager of Reardan Grain Growers. He worked there 14 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of Spring Creek Grange, an honorary chapter farmer of Reardan Future Farmers of America, an honorary member of the Pacific NW Grain Dealers Assoc., past charter member of Reardan Lions Club and a past board member of the Reardan Memorial Library. Carstens is survived by his wife Viola at home; son Paul and daughter-in-law Janet Carstens of Osh Kosh, WI; son Clifford and daughter-in-law Verneta Carstens of Reardan 6 grandchildren, Sharon, Russell, John and Anne-Marie Carstens, Osh Kosh, WI; Tiffany and Teresa Carstens of Reardan.
