Tennie was the last one of 7 children born to John and Tennille (Barnes) Dunaway. Baby Tennie had 5 older sisters and one brother, William Henry Dunaway.
When baby Tennie was 5-1/2 months old, her sister Victorey died at just 2 years, 7 and 1/2 months old.
Just one year later, Baby Tennie died on September 7, 1904. She was laid to rest in the family plot in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following month, mama Tennielle died on October 15, 1904. She was 33 years old. Papa John D. Dunaway remained a widower for 34 years until his death.
