Obituary of Dean Harold Brosche
Dean Brosche was born on December 28, 1924 to Lorena Wilson Brosche and Alexander Brosche in Seattle, Washington. He had a brother, Paul, and a sister, Ruth. Dean grew up in Seattle, leaving to serve in the Marine Corps from 1943-1946. During his tenure in the Marines, Dean was involved in active combat during the battles of Peleliu and Okinawa. He survived the battle of Peleliu, which took the lives of over 6500 of his First Marine Division brothers. During the battle, he was field promoted from Corporal to Sergeant. Upon returning from the war, Dean attended the University of Washington, where he met a nursing student named Lucille Towers in the University Church choir. They married on May 26, 1950. They had three very active sons, Mark, Paul, and, Glenn. Dean and Lucille were married for almost 61 years when she passed away in March 2011. Dean passed away peacefully on June 16, 2019. Dean is survived by his three sons, eight grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
