Robert Russell Wooten, Jr., 64 of Weaverville passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019. A lifelong native of Buncombe County he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Roberts Wooten. He was also preceded in death by a son, Benjamin K. Wooten; brother, Michael Wooten; sisters, Rosalena Merriam, Janice Adams, Vickie Frisbee and Gail Carico.

Robert served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Haywood Community College for stone masonry. He worked as a carpenter and loved building houses. He especially enjoyed building and working on the NC Arboretum.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela Moore Wooten; children, Jacqueline Wooten Helms, Robert R. Wooten, III; step-children, Dawn W. Irish and Gary W. Wilkie; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special nephew who was more like a son, Brian Carico; one brother, Kenneth Frisbee and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Union Chapel Church Cemetery, Weaverville.
