Obituary:

Jean Allen Stone 71 passed away peacefully October 14, 2019 at her home.

Jean was a 1966 graduate of Riverside High School. Jean has always had a relationship with the Lord. As a child, she was a member of Mt. Zion, Baptist Church. As a young adult, she was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. In her senior years she became a member of her current church home Olivet Baptist where she served on the Matthew 25 Ministry faithfully cooking on the 3rd Sunday.

Jean was a retiree from the Hamilton County School Head Start where she loved working with the children. She also was passionate about working with the homeless at the CRM Shelter. She also served as the President of the Chattanooga Community Organization for many years. As you can tell she loved people and people loved her.

She is preceded in death by parents Georgia and James Stone, brother James "Pete."

She leaves to mourn her children Darrell (Darlene) Stone, Carlene Harris, Tracey (Kevin) Crutcher-Kennemore. Son-in- law James Harris II. Sisters Sarah Smith and Harriette Johnson of Toledo Ohio. Grandchildren Brandon Ford, Darrell (Kayla) Stone, London Crutcher, Britian Crutcher, April Harris, Asia Harris, and Jade Harris(David). Great grandchildren Ahynx Crutcher and Lenora Stone. Nieces and nephews Nadine Williams, Tonya Johnson, Tressa Johnson, Travis Smith, Cedrick Smith, Tameesha Simon, Kieara Johnson, Taney High, Tayler Walker and host of great nieces and nephews. God children Zandra Joshua, Kevin Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Cheryl Holloway, Brittani Holloway, Nicole Kinnamore and Anthony Armour. Lifetime friends Alice Smith, Robin Williams, Joyce Watson, Sharon Sanders McClain, and Gwendolyn Sanders. Jean(Granny) door was always open. She never judged just encouraged you to be the best you with kind words, a humble spirit and a big smile. Her delicious sweet potatoes pies and Stone Cold Iced Tea will be missed by all. We love you sweet Lady, take your rest.

Visitation 2:30 - 6 pm on Sunday, at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services on McCallie Ave and on Monday 10 am - 12 Noon,Olivet Baptist Church Martin Luther King Blvd. Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon at the church, Interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens- East
