Professional Football Player. He played the linebacker position for both the National Football League's Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings from 1964 to 1969. Born C. Michael Reilly, he played football collegiately at the University of Iowa where he earned All-Big Ten and All-American honors. He was also a co-captain of the College All-Star team in his senior year. He was drafted by both the Chicago Bears of the National Football League and the Buffalo Bills of the American Football League in their respective drafts in 1964. He signed with the Bears and played for them for five years before signing with the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent in 1969. He played for the Vikings during the 1969 season and was a part of their National Football League championship-winning team that lost Super Bowl IV to the Kansas City Chiefs. He retired from football after the season and later became a longtime football broadcaster for his alma mater, the University of Iowa. He was inducted into the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
