Minnie Sue Parnell Hawkins, 90, wife of Robert Wilbur Hawkins, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2019 at NHC Healthcare-Sumter.

Born November 5, 1928, in Lamar, she was one of six children born to the late David and Vera Richardson Parnell. She was a member of the body of Christ (1Corinthians 12:12-27) and enjoyed to the fullest a lifelong fellowship with other Christians.

Sue is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wilbur Hawkins of Sumter; two sons, Cecil Hawkins (Dot) of Greenville, and David Hawkins (Evy) of Sumter; a sister, Alice Thain of Alpharetta GA; five grandchildren, Zachary, Brent, Rachelle, Stefan, and Lydia Hawkins; and seven great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a 1:00 visitation on Monday, October 21 at Elmore- Cannon- Stephens funeral home in Sumter, followed by a 2:00 service in the chapel with ministers Tom Nussbaum, Dorothy Steljes, and Ken Pinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamar Cemetery.
