Mrs. Verna A. Manthey, 72, of 164 S. High St., Mayville, died Wednesday, July 26, 1989, at her home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Mayville, the daughter of Edward and Cora Hoff Schellpfeffer. In June 1972, she married Lester Manthey in Mayville.
A lifelong resident of the Mayville and Brownsville area, Mrs. Manthey was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Mayville.
Survivors include: her husband; two sons, Todd and his wife Diane Dowland of Oshkosh and Bruce and his wife Lori Dowland of Austin, Tex.; one granddaughter; and one sister, Loretta Sterr and her husband Lloyd of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Funeral services will be held today at 8 p.m. at Cottrill Funeral Home of Mayville. The Rev. Melvin Frahm will officiate. Entombment will take place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
Friends may call Friday from 4 p.m. to the hour of service at the funeral home.
