Russell C. Bailey

Russel C. Bailey, 71, of South Mesa Street, died Friday (Jan. 28, 1994) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas. He was cremated under the direction of Sunset Gardens Direct Cremation Service.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday (February 1, 1994) at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Alford Sartor officiating.

Mr. Bailey was born March 14, 1921, in Bondville, Ill. He is a retired electrician who worked in Champaign, Ill., and Lovington. He was a member of IBEW Local 643 of Carlsbad until he became disabled in 1976.

Mr. Bailey served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines from 1943-45 and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 2097, a life member of DAV Chapter No. 30 and a life member of VFW Post No. 8703.

He is survived by his wife, Reymunda Bailey, of Carlsbad; three sons, Frank and Rick Bailey, of Carlsbad and Eddie Bailey, of Illinois; two daughters, Cindy Lewis, of Champaign, and Teresa Zachniewski of Raton; one brother, Fred Bailey, of Decatur, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Memorials should be made to a charity of choice.

Since Russell C. Bailey was cremated, I haven't found out where the cremated remains were taken to or what was done with the cremated remains.
