Ann "Momma Ann" Jenkins Webb, was born in Gastonia on March 5, 1946 and passed away on Tuesday ~ October 15, 2019.
Ann loved everyone she met but she especially loved her children and grandchildren. She was known to neighbors and friends as ‘Momma Ann.’ She never met a stranger and she touched the hearts and lives of many people over the years one way or another. She loved to shop; she loved to fish; she loved the Atlanta Braves and she loved George Jones. She was a ‘strong willed lady’ as she fought cancer and always lived her life to the fullest. There is no doubt that ‘Momma Ann’ will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and knew her.
Left behind to cherish the memories and legacy of Momma Ann are her sons: John Dewey Banks III, Kenneth Wayne ‘Kenny’ Banks and fiancé Elaine Webb, Marshall Gene ‘Rooney’ Banks and fiancé Linda Burton; one brother William "Gene" Jenkins and his wife Diane; Ann's close friend, Larry LeBarron and wife Martha; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
Ann was the daughter of the late William Turner Jenkins and Rosie Norris Jenkins. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Eunice Dowell, Barbara Sue Lowe and Geraldine Godfrey; seven brothers: William "Buck" Jenkins, Larry Steve Jenkins, Lee Raymond Jenkins, Charles Nathen Jenkins, Lawrence Jenkins, Ralph Jenkins and Cletus Jenkins.
A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday ~ October 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina with Reverend Mike Criswell delivering words of hope and comfort to Ann's family and friends. Active pallbearers are Donald Hill, Jr., Eric Wilson, Ronnie Godfrey, Johnny Rushton, Timothy Perkins and Cody Crotts. Honorary pallbearer is Larry LeBarron.
Graveside and committal services will follow at Armstrong Cemetery, 625 Osceola Street, Gastonia, North Carolina, 28054.
