Our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend passed away comfortable and peacefully on October 2, 2019 at 8:53 PM at the Kaiser Hospital in Fresno, California. We are sad but rejoicing that she is now in heaven reunited withher mother and father, Frank Allen and Lessie Louise Paty Eubanks and her two brothers Charles Truett Eubanks and James Allen Eubanks and her sister-in-law, Beulah Jackson Eubanks.
Mom was born on Pine Bluff Road in Paris, Texas on June 21, 1923, in her grandmother Paty's farm house. Mom had fond memories of visiting her grandparents, James Alexander and Belle Ann Paty at their dairy farm. She loved delivering milk with them door to door. Papa Paty never learned to drive, so Mother Paty drove the delivery truck and Papa Paty stood on the running board.
The Eubanks family moved from Paris to Dallas, then to Denver, on to Houston, and back to Dallas. Along the way Mom graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston in 1941. When they moved to Dallas she went to Business College and began her career in accounting. Mom's cousin, Mary Helen Lindsey introduced her to her future husband,Charles Eugene Wills. They married in San Angelo, Texas on November 14, 1945. Their first daughter, Sharon Louise, was born in San Angelo on January 27, 1947. Eventually the small family moved to Seal Beach, California. Gene went to work at the Richfield ( later known as Atlantic Richfield) Oil Refinery. They bought their first home in Westminster, California in 1954. In 1956, their second daughter was born, weighing just 2 1/2 pounds. Nan Elizabeth was born on November20, 1956. When Nan entered Kindergarten Mom went to work at Beckman Instruments in Fullerton, then began working at the Huntington Beach Union High School District in Accounts Payable. She worked at HBUHSD until her retirement.
Following a divorce, Mom married Frank Butler in 1976. During their marriage, they traveled extensively in their motor home around the United States- visiting Alaska on two occasions. They also went to Europe and Hawaii, and sailed on many cruises .After Frank passed away in 1998 Mom became very active --enjoying playing Mexican Train, and Bunco and volunteering weekly at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in their library, delivering books and magazines to patients. She was most proud of her active affiliation with the Order of Eastern Star,Daughters of the Nile, and Women's El Becka Oriental Shrine. She was Past Worthy Matron of Westminster Chapter of OES. She was in Eastern Star for 68 years. Most importantly she was a Christ-follower and spent a lifetime participating in church activities. She was an active member of Good Shepherd MethodistChurch in Westminster for 34 years.
In 2012 Mom relocated from Westminster to Coarsegold, California. Sharon happily welcomed Mom into her home. She designed and had built a large addition to Sharon's house for her own "space". She often commented how much she enjoyed living in the mountains. She spent many hours sitting onher patio, having coffee with family, reading, watching "her woodpeckers" and other wildlife that might fly or wonder through the property-- all the while listening to her wind chimes.
Mom, being a "good " Texan, LOVED football! Texas college teams on Saturdays and the Cowboys on Sundays. She knew both names and jersey numbers of the players. She was an avid reader. She always had a book with her--in her purse, on the end table,or in her lap! And TV!! Boy she had her favorites and Reality TV was it!! Big Brother, The Amazing Race, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Survivor and Dancing With The Stars! Her memory being as sharp as it was- she followed and kept up on every story line!
She delighted in paying for family dinners! She never turned down a chance to get Mexican food or a good steak! Mom was truly loved and cherished by her family. She enjoyed family dinners, family outings, adventures to town, people watching, birthdayparties, holidays and special occasions, football games, and movies, daily phone calls and family pictures. We included her in everything we did! She thrived in life living at Sharon's.

Great Grandchildren: Evan Diehl, Brendan Gillaspy, Macie Kearney, Zain Kearney, Aiden White. Sister in Law- Sarah Eubanks. Nieces and Nephews: Ron Eubanks and wife Lee, Brenda Parakakis and husband Kriss, Chuck Eubanks and wife Betty ( Boo) Jack Hunter and their children, Casey, Ryan, Eric, Nikki, Paul, Sara, Bryan. Stepdaughters: Tonia Gladden and husband Ray, Brenda Adams and husband Mike . Stepgrandchildren: George, Stephanie, Leslie, Brian, Chris. Also she leaves many friends and extended family
