Virgil L. Jordan, 89, passed away August 22, 2006. He was born August 10, 1917, the son of Samuel and Mary (Goslin) Jordan of Clinton, Missouri.

He was a boyhood member of De Molay, a graduate of Northeast High School and a 1947 graduate of Kansas State University - Electrical Engineering. He was Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Jordan was a member of IEEE, Senior Engineer at Bendix Aviation Corp, where he designed electronic test equipment for Atomic Energy Commission contracts. He had also worked for Western Auto as an Electronic Equipment troubleshooter, worked for TWA and retired from Electronics Institute as an electronic equipment instructor. He was active in BSA as Scoutmaster of Troop 162 and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy May (Flacy) Jordan, January 17, 1961 and his second wife, Patricia (Daugherty) Bridge Jordan, June 23, 2003.

Mr. Jordan is survived by two sons, Robert Bruce Jordan and wife, Carol of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Richard Kent-Jordan of Independence, Missouri; stepdaughters, Rebecca Moyer and husband, Dennis, and Barbara Lynch, all of Warrensburg, Missouri; ten grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.

Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64137. (Arrangements: Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel (816) 942-2004)
