Passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 with family by her side. Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Monica and Martin Price, beloved wife of the late Richard D. Goetz for 26 years, previously widowed to the late Raymond C. Schuler. Preceded in death by her older brothers Martin, Jack and Charles Price as well as her granddaughter Stephenie Carpenter. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Raymond Schuler, Jr., Stephen Schuler, Theresa Caples (Robert), Roberta Webb (Gary), Paul Schuler (Cindy) and Mary Obergfell (Mark). Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Suzanne, Stephen, Shawn, Zakary, Cortney, Crystal, Jason, Kacey, Tara and Michael. Beloved great-grandmother of 16. She especially loved her special visits with Brendan.
After raising her family, she was in Administration for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis for 15 years before relocating to San Diego, CA working in Administration for Scientific-Atlantic before retiring.
Elizabeth was affectionately known as Betty Ann. She was vivacious, generous, independent, adventurous and had an energetic spirit. She was artistic at an early age with sketching and watercolors. Later in the 1960's she won many 1st place awards from the North County Art Association for her floral watercolor paintings. She would later continue to oil paint landscapes from photos into her 70's.
As a child she loved her summers at her Aunt Genevieve's country farm. Later her love of road trips and picnics continued with her children and then with Richard and their co-pilot Coco, their dachshund. Her road trips weren't limited to the Midwest. She drove from coast to coast, mountains to the oceans.
She was an avid reader, loved a thrift store find, and had a flair for fashion and makeup. She liked her beer warm, card games, Western movies, music, dancing and singing in the kitchen. She had a special knack for finding four leaf clovers, coming upon two or three at just a glance. Her rosary was an evening comfort.
Elizabeth was a fabulous cook, baker and entertainer. Spoiling her family especially at the holidays, a feast for the tummy and the eyes, there was no less than six pies and four cakes at the dessert table.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Elizabeth would want you to enjoy every minute of your life and would say, "I hope you dance." On those particularly rough days, she would want you to dance and "have a donut."
Special thanks to Theresa, Jessica, Miralande, Cindy, Monica & Skila from the Memory Care Unit at the Villages at St. Peters. They have been wonderful caregivers to her for the past two and a half years. Also a special thanks to the Mercy Hospice team.
We will Celebrate Elizabeth's Life at a special Memorial Mass on Friday, November 1st, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Florissant, MO. A private reception to follow. Interment at St. Ferdinand Cemetery in Florissant, MO.
