John Thomas "Tommy" Pennington, Jr. age 71 Of Lawrenceburg ,TN passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at Decatur Hospital in Parsons, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN and retired supervisor from the Lawrence County Ambulance Service. Mr. Pennington was one of the first paramedics in Lawrence County where he served as coroner for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Pennington, Sr. and Mary Helen Smith Pennington and one sister Patricia Ann Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Pennington of Lawrenceburg, two sons, Chris(Susan)Pennington and Jamie(Kim)Pennington both of Lawrenceburg, two daughters, Penny(Roger)Benderman of Columbia, TN and Nicole(Jay)Dickey of Lawrenceburg, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, TN. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9th at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10th with Larry Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Pennington Family Cemetery, 67 Greenwood Road, Lawrenceburg, TN.
