Herman Stanley

Herman Stanley, 79, of Goody, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Pike County, June 7, 1926, a son of the late Oscar and Cordelia Williamson Stanley.
He was a retired car repairman employed by the N&W Railroad and a former Pike County deputy sheriff. He was a member of Williamson Moose Lodge 1613, the Humane Society, the Transcontinental Union, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of East Williamson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ray Stanley; his second wife, Beatrice Cundiff Stanley; one son, Herman Eugene Stanley; one daughter, Garnette Bernice Stanley; an infant son and daughter; and one brother, Oscar Stanley Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Stanley; one son, Steven Michael Stanley of Goody; one daughter Brenda Sue Stanley Bostic of Pikeville; two brothers, Don Stanley of Pontiac, Mich., James Bennie Stanley of Otto, N.C.; four sisters, Dixie Williamson of Thornton, Colo., Vicie Wethy of Dunlow, W.Va., Ollie Jean Robinette of Guntersville, Ala., Patricia (Mrs. Carl) Alexander of Kingston, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, in the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bob Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy.
Arrangements are under direction of Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler.
