Born April 22, 1926, in Leadmine, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Lena M. (Martin) Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. Armstrong; two brothers, Charles and Harold Cole; three sisters, Ada and Arveda Cole; Margaret Aguilar; 3 half-brothers, Jack and George Cole; Richard Dumire; 3 half-sisters, Nettie Bonner; Affee Harsh; Thelma Rhinehart; two daughters, Bonnie Bateman; Mary Wells; one son, Ray Armstrong; one grand-daughter, Dollie McCarty.
Dorothy was a bank teller and a member of the American Legion Post 71 Ladies’ Auxillary. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by two sons, John Armstrong, Oakland; Darrell Armstrong and wife, Susan, East Berlin, PA; two daughters, Mildred Stewart, Oakland; Helen Ausderau, Glasford, IL; one brother, Norman Cole, IL; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
At Dorothy’s request, she will be cremated and no services are being planned at this time.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland are in charge of her cremation arrangements.
