Dwight William Miller, 63, died October 14, 2019, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Ascension Via-Christi, Wichita. He was born August 1, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Sgt. Lloyd Edwin and Georgia M. ‘Jo’ (Stuckey) Miller.
Dwight graduated from Buhler High School in 1974. He served in the United States Air Force, serving from 1975 to 1978, and served as well in the United States Navy. Dwight retired from Cessna after 25 years of service as an inspector and avionic technician. He was a member of the American Legion Post #268 in Sedgwick and the American Legion Post #268 Legion Riders. Dwight was instrumental in helping to establish the Legion Riders for Kansas.
Dwight is survived by: sons, Beau Jacquot of Valley Center, Chris Miller (Ashley) of Silvis, IL, Robert Travis of Hudson; grandchildren, Landon, Lyrik, and Veda Miller of Silvis, Illinois; sisters, Sheryl Andree of Sedgwick, Deborah Leigh (Steve) of Lehigh; niece, Jennifer Ramsey (Chad) of Sedgwick; and nephews, Shawn Hughbanks (Jeree) of Salina, Chad Hughbanks (Jessica) of Hillsboro; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Sedgwick United Methodist Church, 600 N. Commercial Avenue, Sedgwick, with Pastor Jan McDaniel and Jason RoTramel Burial will follow in Partridge Cemetery, with military honors conducted by McConnell Air Force Base. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Sedgwick United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post #268 Legion Riders, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
