Pfc. Le Ron A. Wilson of Queens, N.Y. was born abroad, in Trinidad and Tobago. He moved to Springfield Gardens to be with his mom at age 11. He dreamed of a military career and enlisted after graduating from Thomas Edison High School. Wilson twice won soldier of the month and finished training at the top of a battalion of 600. He died in Iraq of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle at age 18.
