Sharon E. Peterson, 75, of Arcadia and formerly of Sparta, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse.

She was born on April 1, 1944 in Tomah, WI to Irl “Peck” and Vera “Peggy” (Hill) Sowle. She grew up in Tomah and graduated from Tomah High School.

Sharon married Norman “Pete” Peterson on June 16, 1962.

Together, they owned and operated the Korner Bakery in Sparta for 26 years.

They then spent 12 years in Montana before moving back to Arcadia.

Sharon loved shopping at second hand stores and going to rummage sales.

Sharon is survived by her three children, Jon (Dana) Peterson, Troy Peterson, and Kim Peterson all of Arcadia; six grandchildren, Julie (Tim) Meier, Nicole Peterson, Kyle Whitish, Katie Peterson, Tayler Schlosser, and Dalton Schlosser; and a sister, Marsha Babcock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman “Pete” on October 24, 2003; brother, David; and sisters, Debra Pettis, Audrey Sowle, and Coral Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Clyde Ewers officiating.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
