Janie joined St. John Temple at an early age under the leadership of Bishop White. She later joined First Church of God In Christ pastured by Bishop Howard E. Quillen; where she served on the Usher Board and taught the Adult Sunday School class. She served well in her service for the Lord until her health failed her.
Janie was very outspoken. She loved to talk about the goodness of the Lord. Her favorite words were "Thank You", "Baby" and "God is Good"
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Sophie Burch.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband of fifty nine years, David King; one daughter, Addie Lee (Anthony) Hudson; three grandsons, Perry Sykes, Anthony Sykes, David Sykes; 14 grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Julia Griffith, Emma Anderson, Katie McGowan all of California and Annie Mae King of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
