Felix Grover Chaffin Jr was born on June 23, 1924 in Tennessee, the son of Felix Grover "F G" Chaffin Sr (1884–1965) and Estelle Evelyn (Earp) Chaffin (1883–1968).
He was married on June 27, 1948 in Maury County to Kathryn Baird.
A self-employed dentist and US Army veteran of World War II, Felix Jr was 30 years old, married and living at 4953 Stillwood Drive in Nashville when he had a probable hemorrhage on November 26, 1954 and was taken to Nashville General Hospital, where he was DOA.
Survivors included his parents, brothers Eldridge Brownlow Chaffin (1902–1975) and Roy P Chaffin (1919–1996) and sisters Flora Evelyn (Chaffin) Lovell (1904–1984) and Margaret Louise (Chaffin) Kinzer (1914–2012).
Burial was two days later in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
