Beatrice Alice Needels died on October 13, 2019 at the age of 89 in Georgetown, TX. She was born in Cameron, TX, on May 27, 1930.

She was preceded in death by her husband Austin; her infant daughter, Jennifer; her parents: Bill and Bertha Michalka of Cameron; and her brothers: Billy Joe and Charles.

She is survived by her children: Mark Needels, Laura and Michael Kantner, and Karen and Chris Scaffidi; and her sisters: Lillian Kruse and Frances Hopper.

She practiced generosity to others, including sacrificing greatly for her family. This included caring for her children by staying at home with them while they were young. Later, she worked as a secretary so she and Austin could save all her earnings for their kids’ college educations. She regularly helped with local fundraisers, baking desserts, sewing Barbie-doll dresses, and helping prepare kolaches. She lived in Texas all of her life, where she enjoyed reading, cooking delicious Southern meals for her family, square-dancing with Austin, and playing bridge with friends. She attended St. Helen Catholic Church since 1991. She faithfully loved Austin through nearly 50 years of marriage, through both sickness and health.

While we will miss her dearly, we know she has gone on to be with her Lord. In keeping with Jesus’s message, “As often as you did it to one of the least of My brothers and sisters, you did it to Me” (Matthew 25:40), the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to: Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33073

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78633.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, Texas, 2700 E. University Ave, Georgetown, Texas 78626.

Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Monica's Cemetery, 205 S. Karnes Ave., Cameron, Texas 76520.
