Wife of SFC Melvin Dorsey Brown Jr US Army

Irma V. Brown went to be with our Heavenly Father, passing away peacefully on October 06, 2019 in Austin, Texas at the age of 82. She was born in Roma, Texas to J.J and Maria Vale, graduated Roma High School (Class of 1957), attended San Antonio College and worked in the San Antonio Independent School District for 28 years before retiring. For many years she also devoted her time to the Legion of Mary, donated to various charities for veterans, women’s shelters, animal organizations and her church. She was a “Den Mother”, a rebel in her time, talented crafter, a popular and loved neighbor, avidly enjoyed the outdoors, music, cared for and loved animals of all types, never turning away a stray or injured soul of any kind. Mostly she was our mom, headstrong, determined, funny, caring and loving, always thinking of other’s needs, generous, and provided loving advice. And yes mom, every time we see a bird or a cat, we will remember you.

She is preceded in passing by her parents; brothers, Joseph Vale, Robert Vale, Franklin Vale, and her loving husband of 20 years, Melvin D. Brown Jr. She is survived by her sons, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

She is loved and will be missed by all.
