Born in North Carolina, Chef Douglas had retired as a cook from the U.S. Public Health Service after 42 years. He was also a retired gardener. Mozel had a love for maintaining rose gardens.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Ann Williams of Norfolk and Paula M. Farrior of Danville, Va.; two sons-in-law, Lenwood Williams Jr. and Anthony Farrior; two sisters, Laura Simmons and Lucy Rudolph, both of North Carolina; a brother, Junious Douglas of North Carolina; grandchildren, Aric and Peyton Farrior; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hale Funeral Home Chapel, Norfolk, by Bishop Lewis E. Hines. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
