Frank Walker, known around Carter County, Oklahoma for ninety-eight plus years as RB, entered this life on May 31, 1921, born at Rocky Point, South of Ardmore on the family farm (now Lake Murray) to the late Frank S. Walker and Ivory (Thrasher) Walker.
In 1935, with the construction of Lake Murray underway, the family made their move to Berwyn, Oklahoma (now Gene Autry) following a land trade with Oklahoma Governor William Henry Davis "Alfalfa Bill" Murray.
Following his schooling and graduation from Berwyn High School, RB embarked on his life works. A man of many talents, his work adventures were many, but he settled on a lifelong career as a plumber with fifty-one years of dedicated service to the citizens of Carter County. RB possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, owning several rent houses, as well as the Vendome Skating Rink in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
While being a great provider for his family, RB also loved to have a good time, times that most often included his family and friends. He loved rodeos, fishing, crafting, gardening, watching westerns; and especially he enjoyed his cabin that he hand built at Lake Texoma; and lots of dancing. Oh, did he love dancing, yes he did; he even became a caller at square dances. He attended dances far and wide, and was quoted to say he loved the ladies with good knees. He finally settled on the Springdale Community Dances as his final dance hall of choice.
RB was a salt of the earth, kind of fella that never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. He good naturedly often told most that offered him a drink of water, "No thanks, that stuff will rust a man's gut."
RB was one lucky man. He not only had the opportunity to have one wife, he had two, Freda Mae Walker and Lou Ella Walker, both preceding him in death. He was also predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Brenda Litchfield. In addition to his son, Charles (Chuck) Walker of Ardmore, RB also had the fortune to be survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and an extended bonus family.
His laid back spirit served him well, even when the Lord called him home on a beautiful October 14th morning in 2019, at the age of ninety-eight years, four months and thirteen days.
