Maureen Hayes, age 94, lifelong resident of Center, passed away, Monday, July 09, 2007, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Mangum Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Greg Megill officiating and music by the Sunday Singers. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hayes was born June 26, 1913, in Center to J.O. Ceal and Nancy Jane Edwards Ceal. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Center. She worked as a bookkeeper for Payne and Paynes Hardware Store for many years and a homemaker in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.O. and Nancy Jane Ceal; husband, Fairish Hayes Sr.; son, Fairish Hayes Jr.; and eight brothers, Willie Bryce, Amos Bryce, Emory Bryce, Lonnie Bryce, Marvin Bryce, Homer Lee Bryce, Elmo Ceal and Jewel Ceal.

She is survived by son, Zane Hayes and wife, Dimpsye of Tyler; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hayes of Center; seven grandchildren, Aubyn McClanahan and husband Thomas of Tyler, Grayson Hayes and wife Jennifer of Flint, Brandon Hayes of Tyler, Bryce Hayes and wife Beth of Flint, J. Howard Hayes and wife Joan of Center, Debbie Brittain and husband Charlie of Center, and Jimmy Hayes and wife Dawn of Copperas Cove; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Zane Howard Hayes, Patrick Brittain, Nathan Brittain, Josh Hayes, Cory Hayes, Cody Hayes, Ryan Kiefer and Hunter Kiefer.
