Shirley Louise Elledge Bingham May 13, 1941-November 4, 2017
Shirley was born to DeLoss C. and Harriet N. (Bartee) Elledge. She was born in Osage City, Kansas and raised in Scranton, Kansas. When she was 16, she moved to Topeka where she met and married Robert M. Bingham on July 20, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1999.

She was the mother of Patricia Ann Bingham Bryan, Catherine Louise Bingham, Robert Clayton Bingham and Melvin DeWayne Bingham. Melvin died in 1984.

Survivors include her children, Pati (Kent) Bryan, Cathie Bingham, Bob (Sherry) Bingham; grandchildren, Travis Bryan, Melvin E. Bingham, Gary Bingham, Alaire (Justin) Freeland, Nicholas Hartman, Jessica Bingham, Joshua (Erika) Bingham; 17 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She worked for USD 501 for many years, at Parkdale Elementary, and Sheldon in the Head Start Program as a paraprofessional. Later at Topeka West High School, and Highland Park High in food service.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy L Elledge Buskirk, and Lenora Gertrude Elledge Walburn, 3 sisters-in-law and 8 brothers-in-law. Shirley was cremated and at her request no services are planned, a celebration of life is being held Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 2-4p.m. at the Meriden VFW
