During the World War he served his country as a member of 165th Infantry, at Camp Funston, for several months, but saw no active service. He had been a member of the Methodist church, South, at Oak Hill, for several years. He was united in marriage to Tillie Bezoni, April 9, 1929, and is survived by his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Oma Wallace, Houston, Mo., and Ruth Shoemaker, Kansas City, Mo., a number of other relatives and hosts of friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted at Oak Hill church, Sunday afternoon, by Rev. H. C. Adkinson. Burial followed in the Oak Hill cemetery under direction of Elliott Funeral Home.
Dan Shoemaker was a good, honest, hard-working man, who had many friends in the community, who deeply regret his death.
