Thomas Edmond Shelton was born in Quinton, Oklahoma on August 23, 1940 to Harley Otis and Dovie Mae (Virden) Shelton. He passed away in Muskogee, Oklahoma on October 15, 2019 at the age of 79.
Thomas was the youngest of five siblings. He grew up in the Kinta area and graduated from Kinta High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from February 1959 to February 1965. Upon leaving the Army he attended Draughon Business College in Tulsa.
On November 9, 1962 he married Georgia Kay Sweeden. They made their first home in McAlester, Oklahoma where he was employed as an accountant at Oklahoma State Penitentiary. They had two children, Leslie and Wesley. The family made their home in the Quinton area.
Thomas enjoyed raising cattle and woodworking. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quinton.

Several nephews and nieces
He is preceded in death by his parents, H.O. and Dovie Mae Shelton; two brothers, Bobby Gene Shelton and Charles Shelton; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bookout and Johnny Sweeden.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Quinton First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Chappelle officiating. Interment will follow at Quinton City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Malloy Chapel in Quinton.
