Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Nix were held at Lookeba Methodist Church on Friday, July 6, 2007, with Rev. Jerry Ervin officiating. Burial was in the Lookeba Cemetery under direction of Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Ann Nix was born Sept. 2, 1931, to Joe and Laura Alice (Creel) Crofford in Anson, Texas. She passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at the Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon at the age of 75. Ann was united in marriage to CB Nix on Nov. 5, 1946, in Ada. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1987, in Oklahoma City. She moved to Lookeba in 1963 from Atwood and to El Reno in August 2004. Ann was a member of the Lookeba Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a cook for the Lookeba-Sickles Schools for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Laura Crofford; husband, CB Nix; one son, Arvie Nix; two brothers, John Earl and Sonny Crofford; and one sister, Laura Jo Pegg.

Survivors include five sons, Johnny Nix and wife, Lori of McAlester, Richard Nix and wife, Rosy of Adair, Charles Nix and wife, Jeananne of Stafford, Mo., Donald Nix and wife, Karen of El Reno, and Tommy Nix and wife, Shannon of McAlester; two daughters, Retta Hulsey and husband, Bill of El Reno and Mona Nix Easter of El Reno; daughter-in-law, Judy Nix of Binger; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lou Shipley of Edmonton, Ky., and Erma Neal of Hinton; a brother, Wayne Crofford of Kempner, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to El Reno Blessing Baskets, P.O. Box 55, El Reno, Okla. 73036.
