Steve "Stevie" Buchanan, age 52, of Jacks Creek, passed away on Saturday, October 12th, 2019. He was born in Mitchell County to Lavonia McCurry Buchanan and the late Ray Buchanan.
Steve loved being outdoors, cutting timber, riding his motorcycle and participating in the charity rides "Toys for Tots".
Surviving in addition to his mother is his sister, Amanda Ledford and husband, Mike, of Burnsville; brothers: James Buchanan and wife, Melissa, of Clearmont, Terry Buchanan of England and Benny Buchanan and wife, Rita, of Green Mountain; nieces and nephews: Dakota, Chyenne, Jacob, Olivia, Samuel and Cortney and best and faithful friend, Ronnie Riddle. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 21st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor David Garland will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the McCurry Family Cemetery.
