Theresa Louise Berry, age 53 of Warren, died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She was born March 19, 1966 in Detroit, daughter of the late Joseph John and the late Mildred Shirley (nee: Pierron) Kruemmer.

Proudly dedicating herself to a career in medical billing, you just know that Theresa lived for her time off and the enjoyment of the pastimes that made working worthwhile. One of them was the car rides she relished that took her to many varied destinations, a favorite being the beauty and splendor of Michigan’s “Up North” experience. Anytime Theresa was exchanging the concrete jungle for a taste of the Mitten’s northern majesty,…well, it was simply incomparable. The peacefulness and serenity it provided was beyond expression, but she knew it well and soaked up as much of it with every visit. Another destination that brought Theresa extreme joy and pleasure was found in her trips to the casinos. Not one to merely hang out at any one location,…no, this girl enjoyed a little “casino hopping” to take in as many opportunities as possible in giving Ol’ Lady Luck a run for her money. She loved the whole game of chance and challenging the odds aspect, especially when she came home a winner.

Like many Mom’s, Theresa was known for her love of cooking. With an adoring husband and five beautiful girls under her care, making sure they were properly fed was huge,…and making it “tasty” was her wheelhouse. Mealtimes at Theresa’s were the wonderful resolve from the magic she performed in the kitchen with skills that could rival a culinary expert. Yet Theresa’s were simply the loving hands of a matriarch that sought to be the best Mom and homemaker possible, and her meals were something pretty special. If you left her table hungry, you just weren’t tryin’! And Theresa was always looking out for those with special needs as well, as evidenced in her care for the vegetarians she fed. If you required something unique, Theresa would jump through any hoop possible to meet your needs and see that you were well nourished.

And not merely through her cooking, meeting the needs of others was somewhat of a mantra for Theresa. Possessing the selflessness and compassion of a saint, she was noted for always putting others first and was willing to be there for anybody no matter the cost. She was like a “Mom” to all and accepted anybody into her family. Theresa was a great listener and would make herself available if there was something you needed to share. Always with the heart of a Huggie-Bear, Theresa would meet you with open arms and an open mind, and leave you with a tremendous sense of being loved. Yet for as compassionate as she was, Theresa was also honest and forthright. If she sensed you were wrong or mistaken, she had no problem informing you so.

Theresa had a myriad of things that filled her “fun calendar” over the years, but nothing could ever top the emotions she felt and the memories created with her loving family. From the many events, celebrations and occasions that she shared with her loved ones, those were the most precious of all,…especially the moments with her cherished grandchildren. Of course, her daughters held a large part of her heart and were each, in their own way, her little princesses. And this reference to her loved ones would be terribly remiss if not for mentioning her other babies, the dogs that brought her an unconditional love and were equally a part of her family. Theresa was the consummate “Fur Mama” to her four-legged friends.

And lastly, the love of her life, Sam. These two lovebirds were inseparable and held so much in common that it made loving each other a piece of cake. Sharing over 35 years together, with 28 of them as husband & wife, Theresa brought joy to Sam’s heart and life through her many acts of love and care along the way. From keeping the home fires burning, to helping raise five gorgeous girls, to being the kind of wife most men would envy,…Theresa Rocked!

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Theresa leaves behind many lessons of love for all to cherish with each remembrance embraced. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey through life, and infused each of them with her own brand of care and compassion. Though Theresa leaves us far too soon, it is not without imparting the best of herself in the, seemingly, short time she was given. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Theresa was the beloved wife of Samuel Gordon Berry. Dearest mother of Katie (Brandon Moskos) Kruemmer, Sara LoGreco, Emily (Chris Burton) Berry, Megan (Patrick Crechiolo) Berry, and Gabby (Shayn Jones) Berry. Loving grandmother of Olivia, Charlotte, October, Liam, and Logan. Sister of Marge (Dave) Muss, Ann Schultz, Kathy (Mark) Moninski, John (Carol) Kruemmer, Kenneth (Susan) Kruemmer, Marlene (the late Tim) Milligan, and the late Mary (the late Mike) Madurski.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan.
