He was a life resident of Wabash Township, he was a coal miner in early life and a former section man on a Nickel Plate Railroad. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Surviving, besides the wife, are: two daughter, Leah Bowen, Valdosta, Georgia, Beverly Tuttle, Bluffton; one son, Rendall Allen, Bancroft, Michigan; one sister, Mary Jones, Kingman; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and eight brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. William Rudd officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery." – Star Tribune, Attica, Indiana, July 23, 1991
