Edward P. Hammond Dies At The Home Of Son In Arlington - Funeral Friday
Edward Proctor Hammond died at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of his son Clarence Hammond, of Arlington. Mr. Hammond had been an invalid for the last 12 years. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Hammond was born August 28, 1846 in Jackson Township where he lived all his life. He is survived by five children. They are, Thomas H., of Forest, O., Melville, Clarence, Mrs. J. E. Beame and Mrs. D. D. Inman, all of Arlington. A step-daughter is Mrs. Frank Helms of Arlington. Three children are dead.
Services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home. Rev. Bars of Arlington Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in the Castor cemetery east of Arlington.
