Bobbie Jerl Miller of Statesville, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019, at Maple Leaf Health Care. She was born in Iredell County on March 3, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Harold Henry and Sadie Ann Morrison Miller.
She was a graduate of Unity High School and was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Cheryl Hemmingway and Asai Miller; a great grandchild, Darren Hemmingway; her siblings, Freddie Miller, Harry Miller, Johnny Miller, Dorothy Helen Miller and Bren Miller Williams.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her lilfe, three sons, Randy (Darlene) Miller, Jeffrey Miller and Stanley Miller, all of Statesville; a daughter, Anita Miller Chipley of Statesville; two brothers, Tony (Eva) Miller of Concord, James (Brenda) Miller of Cleveland; five sisters, Annie Tatum, Lucille Miller, Nadine Morrison, and Phyllis Morrison, all of Statesville and Sue Gray of Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Randall (Yvette) Miller of Charlotte, Jeffery Miller of Mooresville, Oderia Chipley of Winston-Salem, Oreon Mayfield of Statesville, Trey Horne of Statesville, LaTisha Florence of Davidson, Justin Grissom and Joshua Grisson, both of Mt. Mourne and Anya Miller of Statesville; seven great grandchildren, Olivia Florence of Davidson, Cameron Mayfield of Gastonia, Orean Mayfield of Gastonia, Terrance Lackey, Jebari Lackey and Zylah Miller, all of Statesville; and a host of other relatives, church family, neighbors and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dietrich Danner will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Ms. Miller will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her son, Randy Miller, 416 North Lackey Street, at other times.
