He and his wife Frances ("Fanna")A. Dayton Gooding farmed and raised two sons, Abram Ogden Gooding and William Hobart Gooding. Frances is the daughter of John Henry Hobart Dayton (17474928) and Elizabeth (Limbaugh) Dayton Roe. John lived near his sister Elizah Jane Gooding Marshall and is buried in Pilot Grove Cemetery #1. He is one of the first buried at this site.

Gravesite Details

John Lynn Gooding was originally buried in the Native American Cemetery in Chillicothe, MO which was subsequently reclaimed and turned into residential spaces. His body was moved by his children to this site to honor him.
