Angels gently swooped down and carried a precious young man ~ John Russell Savage ~ to the awaiting arms of Jesus on July 7, 2019.

While John had been described by his mother as a special needs child ~ Autistic, this happy 3-yr-old was already counting, spelling words, and reading. He had a half-brother ~ Ari Joseph-Hawthorne Ase, age 8, and a half-sister ~ Mya Victoria Ase, age 7. All three children passed away at the same time.

John was the apple of his dad's eye. He would visit his dad on weekends and every holiday. Some of the father/son excursions they had were going to the Clinton Square Fountain or visiting the Museum of Science & Technology. The two had just celebrated the Fourth of July together a few days before. A father's heart is forever broken. May he always cherish John's memory and treasure the bond of love they shared together. God Bless!

A vigil was held outside the family's home on July 9th and a Celebration of Life was held on the 14th at Clinton Square.

The Savage family held a graveside service at the McAllister Family Cemetery in Raeford, NC on July 18th.
