s/o Robert Wood Stanton, Sr. and Mabel Dudley

After graduating from Edmondson High School in Baltimore and serving in the US Air Force for 4 years, Danny attended Morgan State College as an ROTC student. Upon graduation in 1975, he joined the Signal Corps, US Army. He loved the responsibilities, structure, camaraderie and opportunities to learn and travel as a Platoon Leader in Augusta, GA, then as Company Commander in Bad Kreuznach Germany. He was well known in his battalion as someone who would always look out for his soldiers. After tours of duty in Pennsylvania and with the National Security Agency at Ft Meade, MD, he separated from active service in 1987, but continued to participate in the US Army Reserves for various tours of duty as a Communications Officer until his retirement in 1993.

He was a man of faith, an active member in the Milford United Methodist Church, and, for a time, the church groundskeeper. Danny has always felt a special connection to those living in poverty and was a staunch defender of civil and human rights. He was dedicated to participating in church outreach programs serving those in need at the Nashua Soup Kitchen and at Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network (now Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire).

He studied WWII and Civil War history and enjoyed visiting WWII sites in Germany and Civil War battlefields in the South. He followed political news and studied the connections between history and current day politics.

Family members include (removed for privacy). His parents, Mable and Robert Stanton, sister Arla, known as Birdie, and brother Alfred, known as Blondie, precede him in death.
