John Chad Lillard, 40, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on October 9, 2019.

Chad was born on March 14, 1979 in Houston, Texas. He was a happy child with the best bowl cut you’ve ever seen. His love of sports was evident at a young age. He played little league baseball, basketball, and football as a child and was quarterback of the football team throughout his school years.

He married Ashley Lillard on May 18, 2008 in Kemah, Texas and they had three beautiful children together: Colton, Cash, and Rainey. Chad was a dedicated family man, who spent his afternoons at the neighborhood park playing sports and his evenings in the kitchen cooking dinner and dancing with his daughter. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, swapping stories and telling inappropriate jokes with friends. He was an amazing cook who loved to share his gourmet creations with everyone. He was a ‘guy’s guy’ but knew all of the lyrics and moves to Let It Go and wasn’t ashamed to belt it out with Rainey on the karaoke machine in the driveway.

Chad’s love of family and sports culminated in his passion for coaching his kids’ teams. Many children were inspired by Coach Chad’s encouraging words and they will always remember the lessons they learned from him.

Chad is survived by his wife, Ashley Lillard, sons Colton and Cash, and daughter Rainey. His father John Lillard, and wife Claire. His mother Lou Ann Walker, brother Chase Lillard and wife, Amy, and nieces Morghan and Grace.  His aunts and uncles, in-laws, step family, and numerous other relatives.

Friends and family are invited to the funeral service, which will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, with a reception to follow. Honorary pallbearers are John Lillard and Chase Lillard. Pallbearers are John Dowdy, Jonathan Harris, Justin Pemberton, Luke Accardo, Phillip Castillo, and Jason Milburn. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Lillard Family GoFundMe at www.gofundme.com/f/lillard-family or directly to the family via PayPal [email protected]
